Campaigning for change

I’m campaigning on issues such as access to skills and training, staff shortages in the NHS, and tackling fuel poverty.

Hi, I’m Praful - an entrepreneur and campaigner. I live in Islington with my wife and two daughters.

I’ve spent ten years using innovation to tackle inequalities in fertility treatment. IVF is neither universally funded nor universally provided on the NHS. I built a company on a mission to improve affordability and women’s experience of treatment. Not only did we save money for the NHS and patients, but also we created hundreds of jobs and helped thousands of people to start families.

I’m using my experience in delivering change to campaign on a range of issues, from within my local community to across the country.

I’m campaigning for a Skills Revolution, so that skills and training can help end the lottery of birth and background. I’m also a member of the Labour Party’s Council of Skills Advisers.

And in Islington, I’ve campaigned on issues such as the staffing shortages in the NHS and insulating the homes of the thousands of people living in fuel poverty in our borough.

My campaigns

These are some of the issues which I regularly campaign on.

I grew up in an NHS family, I know the difference a well-funded NHS makes to patients and to its staff. I campaign to improve care and working conditions.

Cityscape with smog

Just as we shouldn’t have sewage in our rivers, we shouldn’t have pollutants in our air. That’s why we need clean air policies in Islington.

Whether as a member of Labour Council of Skills Advisors, or through my Skills Revolution campaign, I’m working to end the lottery of birth and background through access to training.

Having worked in women’s health for a decade, and as a Trustee of the charity, the Create Health Foundation, I campaign for women to have better access to and experience of healthcare.

Leak on pavement

From bills to flooding, Thames Water have failed Islington residents time and time again. We need an alternative to their broken system.

Over 10,000 Islington households live in fuel poverty. I’m pushing for reform to the Government’s flagship fuel poverty scheme.
